Gab in double collar red jacket.
We love what Cheryl Benton recently wrote about our jacket’s in her blog The Three Tomatoes:
The “remember me” jacket
Every tomato needs to own at least one statement jacket. The head tomato wore this fabulous red jacket last week at the “Say No to End Violence Against Women” event and her head is still spinning from all the compliments. In fact, we might have to have an intervention to get her out of the jacket – wearing it for Saturday grocery shopping is a bit much. But if red is not your color, fear not. This terrific jacket from the Gabrielle Carlson Collection comes in other fabulous colors and you’ll find more terrific styles too. More details at 3T Shopping.

Gabrielle jacket designs bring the disparate pieces of your attire together to creating ‘ensembles’ that are stand out, feminine eyecatching ~ an option on the ‘power jacket’; an essential to lawyers wearing Gab…

Window boxes en route to the studio tell me Spring Is …
The sun, kissing me, whispers its warmth – then tells me audibly;
Linens please! Breezy silks, gossamer gauzes… mmmnnn
In the shade of the studio, the quiet of NYC as everyone slips out for a weekend of elsewhere…
Knowing Sheep’s Meadow is going to be the spot tomorrow…
What a week; from Showtime, to a day in the Sun
Studio time – moment to moment… dressed for them all…

I’ve uploaded some new images today from one of our latest photoshoots. Did you know we only use our clients as models? We do! Check out more here:

And I must share the most amazing coincidence here regarding these photos. I just began working with Gabrielle and as she was showing the photographs from this shoot I realized that my fiance, Graham, works for her client Michael.

Small world!

Valentino's seamstresses at work
I finally got around to popping “Valentino The Last Emperor” into my dvd player last night. I found watching Valentino and his team of talented seamstresses skillful, painstaking dedication to detail, truly inspiring and humbling. Each gown they created was a work of art.
And it got me thinking about the word couture, which is often used, but erronously. It has come to mean trendy or just expensive.
What is lost in that definition is what makes it most vital: custom-made clothing, made to fit each woman’s individual body perfectly (from the French: sewing, dressmaking and Latin Consuere to stitch together). What could be more beautiful and flatter a woman more? Nothing.
My favorite quote of Valentino’s was the succint “I know what women want, they want to be beautiful.”
Yes, we do.
